Jesse Wente is a renowned Toronto film critic and broadcaster. A self-described ‘Ojibwe dude’ with a national and international lens, Jesse Wente encourages audiences to consider diversity and inclusion into the future view of their organization, industry and country. He was the first nationally syndicated Indigenous columnist for CBC, covering film and pop culture across 20 local CBC Radio programs. Wente chairs the Canada Council for the Arts and is a published author. Wente’s advocacy for Indigenous representation in media has made him a prominent figure in the industry. His work, including pieces on The Revenant, Beyoncé, and sports mascots, has gained widespread attention on CBC.ca.
